Artist Monet, Oscar-Claude Deeply impressed by the landscape of the Massif Central,Monetspent several weeks in the small town of Fresselines, panting the rocky gorges of the two rivers the Grande Creuse and the Petite Creuse. Of the twenty–four paintings he produced there, five were included in his exhibition in June, held at Georges Petit’s gallery.
